Development of Learning Models for Product Development According the Karlsruhe Model

Within the scope of DAAD project „Entwicklung eines Lernmoduls für Produktentwicklung nach dem Karlsruhermodel“ on June, 7th and 8th, at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Niš, Workshop has been held, with participation of professors from Universities of Karlsruhe, Skopje, Tirana, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Sarajevo and Niš.

Workshop was opened by Ph.D. Vojislav Miltenovic who saluted guests in the opening presentation.

Dean of Faculty of Mechanical Prof. dr Zoran Boričić presented the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Niš

Product development institute IPEK University of Karlsruhe and model of education, which follows education in area of product development at University of Karlsruhe, presented Prof. Norbert Burkardt, chief of department for product development at IPEK.

University of Karlsruhe has connections with industry, so students from their University work on development of real products for known user – industry.
Product development, by IPEK model, in last 15 years gave excellent results and their students, throughout team projects developed various. IPEK model of product development, as results show, always leads to innovative and successful products.

Student’s team from Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Niš, presented product developing project “Development Of Some Elements Of Wooden Waste Processing System” what demonstrates present educational model of education on subject Integral Product Development, at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Niš.

Goal of DAAD project „Entwicklung eines Lernmoduls für Produktentwicklung nach dem Karlsruhermodel“ is implementation of Karlsruhe IPEK model of education at Universities of Southeast Europe. This implementation has to qualify students for specific problems solving during product development. Expert groups forming and team work are basic attributes of modern product development, which, beside high education, are implemented into the Karlsruhe’s model. Final goal is tight connection of industry and student’s research teams at.

In mid October, IPEK and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Niš will start pilot-project of mutual cooperation of teams from Karlsruhe and Niš. Project orderer is, by default, German Corporation. Team formed in Niš is conected with teams at IPEK by video link and paralely to other teams work on project realisation. Also, during 4 months, team from Niš will have chance to compete with 5 German teams and develop product which will be presented during Final Presentation, in front of various scouts of giant German concerns

After realization of pilot-project, lasting bond between students from Karlsruhe and Niš will be established.
